Hidden Flight · Help
Privacy policy
Effective September 20, 2026 · Extension version 0.7.4Hidden Flight compares flight options using Google Flights in your browser. This policy describes the bundled extension. It does not describe Google, airline, or travel-booking websites.
Information used for searches
On supported Google Flights pages, the extension reads the current search URL, origin, destination, date, passenger and fare settings, currency information, and displayed flight summaries and prices. It also uses searches you enter in the Hidden Flight workspace. This information is used to identify the route and compare fares.
The optional route-check form reads a Skiplagged link locally to extract explicit search fields. It does not fetch that page or call Skiplagged’s API. User-entered airport sequences, airline codes and departure times guide Google searches. A reported price is only a local comparison note; it is not sent to Google as a verified fare. Route-check inputs can appear in the extension results URL and browser history.
On supported Skiplagged flight searches, the experimental page integration reads the search URL, rendered passenger/cabin settings and visible flight cards and opened flight details (airports, airline, departure time, displayed flight numbers, segment departure dates and price). The selected-flight URL fragment helps identify the opened ticket. It uses complete detected tickets to run targeted Google comparisons in an extension-created background tab. It does not read account, booking or payment fields or call the Skiplagged API. A card price is an unverified local note, not a guaranteed fare.
On Google Flights, selected-flight checks also read the marketing airline, flight numbers, airports and segment dates encoded in the selected itinerary URL. Round-trip checks read both travel dates and search each direction as a separate ticket. This adds no AI provider, publisher server or additional site permission.
Where information goes
The extension sends route and fare-search requests directly to Google Flights through your Google tab. These include origin, connecting and ticketed destination airports, travel dates, selected marketing flight numbers when available, and applicable search preferences. Exact lookups open the selected itinerary in the Google tab and read the returned itinerary and displayed booking-option quotes. Some requests check alternative destinations and connections. Requests use your browser's existing Google session and network connection; Google can receive normal request information, including your IP address and applicable cookies. The extension does not read or export your cookie values.
If you choose an airline, Google Flights, or Skiplagged search link, that provider receives the search information encoded in the link and normal browser request information. Those sites have their own privacy policies and booking terms. Hidden Flight does not make a reservation or collect payment details.
Information kept on your device
The extension stores your last search and automatic-check preference in Chrome's local extension storage. Source-tab identifiers and URLs are kept in session storage. Skiplagged checks also keep background-tab identifiers, route/date constraints, temporary check tokens and request counts in session storage. Google results can include segment dates, marketing airline flight numbers and temporary quote tokens used to construct selected-itinerary booking links. Following such a link sends those values back to Google. Their detected cards and Google results stay in page memory; the Skiplagged automatic-check preference is saved locally. The workspace can retain cached search results, itinerary prices and routes, and previously useful destinations in extension-origin local storage. On-page scanner caches live in memory and disappear when the page is unloaded. This version does not use Chrome sync storage.
Saved preferences and workspace caches may remain until replaced or the extension is removed. The extension does not run a Hidden Flight fare server, send telemetry or analytics to its publisher, sell user data, or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes. Search data is used only to provide the flight-comparison features described here.
Your controls
Turn off automatic checks in the HF panel to stop new automatic searches. The Skiplagged panel has its own automatic-check switch. Remove Google Flights or Skiplagged site access or disable the extension to stop its page integration. Close Google Flights tabs to discard on-page memory caches. Removing the extension clears its extension storage; downloading or sharing a diagnostic screenshot is a separate action you control.
Updates and contact
Material changes to data practices will be described in an updated policy and the extension's release information. For beta support, contact the person who provided your installation link. For a Chrome Web Store release, use the developer contact on the listing.
